Thermo-mechanical fatigue

The following equipment is used in the “Thermo-mechanical drying” process:

Gleeble 3500:

  • Purpose: To test specimens over a wide temperature range, in ambient and environmental media, depending on the material quality and size of the specimen.
  • Load: 100 kN

Thermo-mechanical fatigue is a test method in which the material is subjected to both mechanical and thermal loading. This method allows testing of material behaviour under varying thermal and mechanical loads, which is important in the design of applications where materials are subjected to extreme thermal and mechanical loads, such as aircraft parts, automotive engines and other critical applications.

Gleeble 3500 equipment enables a wide range of tests to help understand the behaviour of materials in real-life conditions. It allows the performance and durability of materials to be tested by varying load and temperature in combination.
