The Melt Flow Junior (MFI) is an instrument used to determine the flow index of polymeric slurries. With this instrument, we are able to measure the viscosity of polymeric materials at specific temperatures and loads. This flow index is a key parameter for evaluating the processability and applicability of polymeric materials. During the test, the polymeric material is heated and then extruded under a defined pressure. The amount of material flowing out is measured over a specified time, which helps to understand the viscous properties and adaptability of polymeric materials during manufacturing processes.
