It is the duty of all governments to protect human health to the maximum and without conditions, especially in industrial activities where the risk and damage to health are higher than average. Nuclear power plant activity also poses a higher risk in normal operation, but this mode of energy production is expected to remain the essential backbone of electricity generation for a long time to come.
The Hungarian project detailed below will help to prepare for a potential nuclear accident or terrorist event, by developing a radiation protection and preventive agent that can be sold on the international market and will bring significant financial success.
The project aims at the development of an industrial chelating agent capable of complexing and removing dangerous radioactive elements, in particular strontium, from the human body, released into the environment during nuclear accidents/disasters, acts of terrorism or hostile nuclear attacks. The proposed product is capable of providing nuclear protection to both the civilian population and disaster management and military personnel in an efficient and cost-effective manner and extends the range of radiation protection tools available to the military.
